Condensed Matter Theory

Kelton studies the theory of nucleation. The group is also studying low temperature quantum solids, such as the so-called "supersolids" and "superglasses," which might appear at very low temperatures and high densities. Research is done on cold atom systems. The application of condensed matter and broad statistical mechanics methods is explored to attempt to answer very important practical questions, such as rapidly figuring out the structure of networks on different scales, modeling neural circuits, and bacterial motion.
